Marvel's The Avengers

Image
I was looking forward to this movie and finally got to watch it in 3D last night. Marvel Studios presents Marvel's The Avengers-the Super Hero team up of a lifetime, featuring iconic Marvel Super Heroes Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye and Black Widow. When an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security, Nick Fury, Director of the international peacekeeping agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D., finds himself in need of a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster. Spanning the globe, a daring recruitment effort begins. -- (C) Marvel  Robert Downey Jr. was excellent as usual. I enjoy him as both Sherlock Holmes and Iron Man. He added much needed humour to this movie.  The Incredible Hulk/Bruce Banner is played by Mark Ruffalo. Out of all actors who portrayed Hulk he is my favourite. Ok, I must confess that the main reason why I was so excited to watch this movie was because of Chris Hemsworth. He ta

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation

Image
As days get cooler my skin is getting lighter. So today I went to get myself a lighter foundation to mix with my existing Chanel Pro-Lumiere that is way too dark for me now. I didn't want to spend a lot of money because I will be primarily mixing it with other foundations. I decided to get new Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation in lightest shade 100 Ivory. It was just under $14 at Big W. First of all I liked the packaging - nice glass bottle with pump I love how shimmery orange plastic is The foundation itself is very good. It has thin formula, sheer and luminous finish and very pleasant scent. I can see some shimmer once it settles into my skin but it is only visible if you look closely under direct light. It blended very well and evened out skin tone nicely. The match seems to be fairly close to my skin. I normally use NC25 which is meduim-fair. I imagine that very fair girls will find it hard to get a good match. I think Rimmel needs to start introducing more shades into

My first Shopbop purchase!

Image
I became familiar with Shopbop couple of years ago. I browse it from time to time but never got around to buying something. I've been lemming Marc Jacobs Mouse Flats for over six months now. I remember placing an order via Shopbop a while back for them but they couldn't process it because apparently they couldn't ship them to Australia. Last week they had 20% off promo so I've decided to try again...and it worked! A parcel was waiting for me yesterday after I returned from work. I was very impressed with speedy delivery. I couldn't wait to open it and try them on! They were as good as I was expecting them to be  - super soft, true to size and mega cute. :::squealing from exitement:::

"ILoveThisBox" April 2012

Image
"ILoveThisBox" parcel was waiting for me today! I couldn't wait to open it. It smelled lovely! My excitement grew...until I have studied the content of the box Just D'Lish candle was the best product in the box and was responsible for that lovely scent. This exfoliant smells lovely (like honey). However it contain Avocado Oil therefore may give me a breakouts. Maybelline Lipstick in My Mahogany. Very interesting shade of reddish brown. I imagine it being popular back in 1994. Unfortunately there is a reason why it stopped being popular, it is not very flattering shade. haf mineral eye shadow. This eye shadow is extremely chalky with slight shimmer. It is pretty much unusable :( Chikii bronzer. This product spilled all over my box. I am too afraid to test it because I don't want to to spill all over the place. Not the best sample presentation. I will get rid of this one too. I am very disappointed with April's box. I can only see myself usin

Revlon Lip Butter - 095 Creme Brulee, 005 Sugar Frosting

Image
I called my local Priceline today and they finally re-stocked their Revlon Lip Butters (they were completely sold out last week). They currently have 2-for-1 Revlon lip products at the moment and it end tomorrow. So I have decided to take advantage of this promotion and stock up on these highly praised lip butters I wanted some very natural shades so I went with 095 Creme Brulee and 005 Sugar Frosting Creme Brulee is a soft nude beige with a hint of shimmer and Sugar Frosting is a pink nude with subtle micro shimmer. Both shades are very sheer however the colour applies evenly over your lips. The formula is very moisturising and I absolutely love how they feel on my lips. They don't last very long so I suggest re-applying every couple of hours. They have a texture of a stick lip balm but better pigment that tinted lip balms. They are almost scent-free, I only detect faint hint of vanilla.  Packaging gets top marks too. I love everything -  quilted caps, clear tops and

New Ulta3 nail polishes - Burnt Orange and Enchanted

Image
I finally got my hands on new Ulta 3 nail polishes. I have seen some reviews already and really liked Enchanted and Burnt Orange. I though they would make welcome addition to my existing Ulta 3 collection. Ulta 3 nail polishes are well worth $2. Most of them are opaque in 2 coats and dry fairly quickly. I can't compare them to OPI or Essie (they are much much better) but they are great if you want to experiment with colours or don't want to break your budget. I think they will go well with Autumn/Winter wardrobe. Enchanted looks like charcoal with green flash in a bottle, however on nails it appears to be a deep shade of eggplant with multi-tonal shimmer. Very unique and pretty shade. Burnt Orange is a rusty orange shade with very subtle silver shimmer (almost creme). It wasn't the colour I would normally pick but I imagined it paired with navy blue, dark grey or even black and it was a winner!

"Lust Have It" April 2012

Image
Today I received Lust Have It beauty box. April doesn't seem to have a clear theme, except they have mentioned that this Autumn makeup is going to be metallic. This month everything was inside this neat case.  1. INuovi Glitter pigment in Blonde RRP$19.95 The only "metallic" item they had in this pack was this gorgeous glitter pigment. It is holographic so it is very eye catching. 2. EmerginC Kombucha Cleanser and Phytocell cream samples ~$15 A lot of brands seem to be jumping on Organic bandwagon, however I'm still keep to try these. Kombucha cleanser reminded me of this post that I saw this morning http://www.regretsy.com/2012/04/18/do-you-take-this-old-lady/ and I couldn't help but laugh 3. DeLorenzo Elements Ocean Mist Sea Salt Styling Spray RRP$23.95 A Star product of this box! It smell divine, has natural UV protection and has conditioning ingredients. I tend to keep my hair more styled and classic during cooler months so I would get more

Trade Secret and my first official PT session!

Image
Today I had my first official Personal Training session! I've been a member of my gym since 2005 but never had proper Personal Training. When I first joined I was a full time student so I couldn't afford one, later I didn't see the point of hiring a PT. I do group fitness classess on/off but I felt like I needed something extra. Now with my wedding coming up I need to look my best on my Big Day as we going to spend considerable money on photography and video. I have never been overweight but always struggled with my weight. When I was younger I would eat very little and exercise on/off to lose weight. I used to use weight easily but then it would creep back on plus 1-2 extra kg. I used to really cut my calories down  but them when I would eat recommended amount I would gain weight. It became like a viscous circle. I even went on Tony Ferguson diet and followed it religiously for four weeks. I felt like crap at the end and lost only 0.5 kg! I booked a trial session wit

This is what I am craving right now. I grew up in Northern Hemisphere so I think I will always associate March, April and May with spring. This look was inspired by fresh blooms :)

New and improved Carindale shopping centre

Image
Carindale Shopping Centre has been recently renovated. They introduced a lot of new stores and upgraded existing stores. I was particularly excited about Forever New (even though it has been going downhill), Swarovski, L'Occitane, Temt and T2. Plus some great food outlets like Hanaichi, Wagamama and Chocolate Pavillion! Myer also had some major renovations. They have MAC now! I've accumulated 6 empty product so I took them there and exchanged them for a lipstick in Russian Red. I've been lemming bright lipstick for quite sometime now.  This red is gorgeous, it is very deep and has matte finish. I initially wanted to get Vegas Volt or Girl About Town but they were completely sold out. SA told me that all their bright colours were gone except for Russian Red. I was researching bright lipsticks and found out that US has much better range of "drugstore" make-up than we do. For example in US Maybelline Color Sensational lipstick comes in whopping 68 sha
