My top 3 floral scents

Image
I am usually not a huge fan of florals but I have few in my collection that I absolutely adore and wear regularly. I get lots of complements (mainly from guys) when I wear them too.  1. Marc Jacobs Essence I got 50 ml bottle on special for around $40 back in 2008. I wore it for couple of months, then moved on (it happens to me quite often). Recently I've been revising my collection and re-discovered this gorgeous scent. It smells like a garden filled with white flowers and opens up beautifully on my skin. Gardenia, Jasmine and Freesia seem to dominate the composition but a hint of spices and musk make it a bit more interesting. It would make a perfect wedding fragrance if it came in prettier bottle. This perfume is a bit hard to find these days but I would definitely get a back-up if I saw a bottle. 2. Lanvin Eclat d'Arpege Perles A limited edition of popular fragrance (which I used to have and love). It smells like flowers from my childhood - Peonies and

L'Artisan Parfumeur L'Eau de L'Artisan

Change of seasons inspired me to get this refreshing and light fragrance. L'Eau de L'Artisan combines basil, mint, lemon, verbena, marjoram, woody notes, tea and moss into a beautiful fresh green and herbal scent.  I've been moving away from popular scents. I love discovering "niche" fragrances that smell different. I got this one from strawberrynet and it was a blind buy. It pleasantly surprised me as it smelled like fresh herbs with a bit of citrus. On me it has moderate sillage and moderate lasting power (after 5 hours I can just detect a hint of it) making it a perfect day time scent.

Popular beauty products that didn't work for me

Image
1. Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation  A lot of people rave about this foundation because it is VERY pigmented and gives moderate to heavy coverage while being quite liquid. On me it looked like a mask and after few uses I realised that it is blocking my pores and causing mild breakout. I ended up mixing it with another foundation and eventually finished the whole bottle but I definitely can say that it is not a HG foundation for me. 2. Clarins Beauty Flash Balm  This product is loved by many people because it is very moisturising and makes skin glow (in a wet, not shimmery way). It was way too rich for my combination skin and cause breakouts. I also prefer primers with shimmery particles rather than oily consistency to make my skin glow. 3. Clinique 3-step system I like a lot of Clinique product but their original 3-step system was a huge disappointment. Originally it had a soap as a cleanser which was ok, then it was replaced by a liquid soap which is a bit m

Witchery and Mimco - my recent shopping trip

Image
Witchery announced that they are having end of season sale so I decided to pay them a visit. I went to Gold Coast Harbour Town Witchery Outlet because I had a gut feeling that their sale was going to be even bigger. I wasn't wrong! They had buy 2 items save 20%, buy 3 save 30%, buy 4 save 40%, buy 5 save 50%! I miss those sales in their regular stores, I was beyond excited that they re-introduced it in their outlet store. So this is what I got 1. Carly Sandals RRP $99.95...paid $14.97   Exactly what I wanted - relatively plain black sandals 2. Maranda Saddle Bag RRP $179.95...paid $59.97 I actually don't have many bags, I guess I am just not a bag girl. However I needed  a simple small to medium black bag so this one was a great find since it is also made from butter soft leather. 3. Black Stud Detail Jeans RRP $169.95..paid $29.97  I wore my River Island Coated Molly Jeggins to death, this pair is a perfect replacement. It is made from thicker ma

New additions to my shoe collection

Image
They were actually purchased about a month ago. I wanted black leather ankle boots since March this year but couldn't find anything that was either in my price range or I actually liked. Until I saw these " Catin " ankle boots at Country Road DFO outlet.  I got them for $49.50 because they were missing the leather "straps" on the zip, otherwise they were in perfect condition. I've worn them at least 5 times already. My other purchase wasn't as exciting. I have to wear enclosed and comfortable shoes at work due to H&S regulations so I had to get a pair of what I call "ugly work shoes". You can usually find a whole selection at Myer from Dianna Ferrari and Hush Puppies range but for some reason they usually cost more than my pretty shoes. I refused to pay $100+ for ugly work shoes therefore I turned my my good old friend eBay and won these loafer which are not too bad for $37.10

L'Occitane Almond Range ♡

Image
Spring is in the air and L'Occitane is promoting their Almond range which I must admit is my favorite. I love the scent if their Almond products and wish they also made matching perfume. Yesterday I stopped by L'Occitane shop to pick up a birthday present for my friend (I got her Picnic in Provence Collection) I couldn't resist their Almond Spring Essentials Collection and got it for myself along with new limited edition hand cream and as a member also got free Almond Shower Oil because I've spent over $80. I've used shower oil in the past and loved it so I was beyond excited to get it for free given how expensive it is.   My Almond Spring Essentials Collection had 1x Almond Shower Oil 75ml 1x Almond Milk Concentrate 50ml 1x Almond Smooth Hand Cream 30ml 1x Almond Soap 50g I already have Almond Body Oil so I am looking forward to trying other complementing products. My first L'Occitane product was Green Tea EDT which I got during my trip
